Ronnie O'Sullivan reached his third consecutive ranking final at the Roewe Shanghai Masters today, but was unable to overcome
Ricky Walden who took the his first ever ranking title by 10 frames to 8.
Fellow Grove player Neil Robertson beat Fergal O'Brien but then also lost to Ricky, who counted Steve Davis among his other scalps.
Ronnie consolidated his position as world no 1 - he is now over 7,000 points clear of no 2 Stephen Maguire and over 13,000 ahead of no 3 Mark Selby.
Neil climbed two places up the provisional rankings list to no 21. The Grove's other professional player, Liu Song, remains at no 44, a rise of
9 places during the course of the season so far.
