PTC6: 14-17 October 2010, Sheffield
Four Grove players made it through to the last 32 of PTC6 but sadly weren’t able to progress any further.
Liu Chuang started with a great 4-2 win against world no 34 Jamie Burnett and then beat Mark Joyce 4-0. Jack Lisowski started with two 4-2 wins against David Singh and Dermot McGlinchey. Judd Trump enjoyed a 4-0 win against Lucky Vatnani and followed this up by beating Alfie Burden 4-2. Liu Song continued his good form with wins against David Grave by 4 frames to 1 and then a 4-2 victory over world no 31 and 1997 World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty.
However all four players fell at the next hurdle. The results were: Ian McCulloch 4-3 Liu Chuang; Andy Hicks 4-1 Jack Lisowski; Graeme Dott 4-1 Judd Trump; Liu Song 0-4 Allister Carter.
Three wins also for Grove amateur Chen Zhe who started with a victory in the qualifying round against Luca Brecel 4-2. Luca, still only 15, is the best junior in mainland Europe and possibly the world right now in his age group. But Zhe is only 17 himself and doing well in his second year based here in Romford. Zhe followed up his win with a first round victory against world no 62 Jimmy Robertson, once again winning 4-2. Zhe followed this up with a 4-2 win against Jimmy Robertson but then lost 4-1 to Anthony McGill.
Matthew Selt lost again in the first round to Ian Burns, 4-3 and Zhang Anda fell 4-0 to Xiao Guodong.
