UK Championship 2012

The UK Championship starts on December 1, 2012 in York, and Judd is the defending champion. Everybody will be after him … including fellow Grove players Wenbo and Jack! Wenbo was in action in the first session of the tournament and lost 4-6 to Barry Hawkins despite playing well. Judd’s defense was short lived as he lost to Mark Joyce 5-6.

Jack joins the 147 club

Jack made his first competitive 147 in frame 3 of the UK Championship Qualifiers round 3 today. His Grove fellow player Chen Zhe was sat in the best seat in the room, Eirian Williams was the referee.… Congratulations Jack!

Uk Championship 2012 Qualifiers

The UK Championship 2012 qualifiers were held in the Academy in Sheffield from November 20th to November 23th, 2012 and Chen Zhe, Li Yan, Liang Wenbo, Jack Lisowski, Yu Delu and Zhang all tried to book their place into the final stages that will be played in York early December. Jack was the first man to join defending champion Judd, and Wenbo soon followed.

EPTC4 2012 – Judd wins the Victoria Bulgarian Open in Sofia

The Grove gang headed to Bulgaria for the fourth European PTC event in Sofia. Jack, Judd and Anda were in action on day 1 and Jack and Judd are through to the Finals day. Li Yan and Liang Wenbo joined them on day 2. .Judd was the only one to survive the Sunday early morning start and went to win it beating John Higgins 4-0 in the Final!

UKPTC 2012 – Event 4 – Gloucester

The Snooker Lab Kay Suzanne Memorial Cup was played in the SWSA, in Gloucester and nearly all players were wearing pink in support to the fight against breast cancer. That terrible disease killed Kay Suzanne, Paul Mount’s sister, ten years ago so this tournament was very special. All Grove players were competing except for Ronnie who took the decision not to play anymore this season. Judd made the Final again!!! Rematch of the World and Shanghai Masters finals vs John Higgins and unfortunately, same result…

World Snooker Statement – Ronnie O’Sullivan

World Snooker has been informed that Ronnie O’Sullivan does not intend to compete on the World Snooker Tour for the remainder of the 2012/13 season.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: “I have spoken to Ronnie and he has decided to withdraw from any events he has entered, and he will not be playing for the rest of this season. He has some personal issues which he needs to resolve and we wish him all the best for the future.”

The APTC3 event in Zhengzhou is scheduled from Monday 5th of November 1012 till Friday 9th of November 2012. Find out here how Grove players Chen Zhe, Li Yan, Yu Delu and Zhang Anda fared. None of them made it to the final day unfortunately.

Grove at the top !!!

By reaching the final of the International Championship in Chengdu today, Judd overtook Mark Selby in the rankings and is now the new World n°1. With Ronnie being the reigning World Champion, it means that Grove holds the two hottest properties in snooker currently.

The boys taking time to have a game of table tennis in Chengdu

Hector Nunn, Rob Walker, ref Leo and Django had a friendly table tennis match before Judd’s match today v mark Allen.

Django is a competent table tennis player. Despite a huge handicap start, Django was the winner on the day.
