The Paul Hunter Classic 2016 was held in Fürth, Germany, as usual and ran from August 24 to August 29, 2016. It is now a full ranking event, but still involves amateurs and still has the same format as the former PTCs. It was a rather down-key event, as most of the top 16 players gave it a miss, including Judd and Neil, and it wasn’t on television, only on streaming. The Grove welcomes Luca Brecel

The Grove is very happy to welcome Luca Brecel in their team. Luca is currently the only professional Belgian snooker player on the main tour, and a very promising talent. Last season he reached his first ranking final at the German Masters and climbed to n°30 in the rankings. With the support of the Grove team, Luca is determined to work hard to improve and enter the top 16.

Eleven30 Series – Leg 3 – Ronnie pulls one back but Judd got the cake!

Ronnie beat Judd Trump by 6-4 in leg 3 of the Eleven30 series, in Goffs, Ireland. He still trails 2-1 overall though.
It all started with a meet and greet for the VIPs, and a very surprised Judd was presented with a birtday cake. Happy 27 Judd!!!

World Open 2016

Yushan, China – 25-31 July, 2016. It proved to be a bit of a strange tournament with a lot of top players going out as early as the last 64 or 32, one of them being Judd who was outplayed by former Grove player Zhang Anda. Neil was the only Grove player who had a deep run in the tournament: he reached the semi finals where he lost by 5-2 to an exceptionally brilliant Joe Perry.
