Neil wins the Riga Masters 2018

Neil has won the first event of the 2018/19 season beating Jack in the Final.

Neil Robertson won the first ranking title of the 2018/19 season by beating Jack Lisowski 5-2 in the final of the Kaspersky Riga Masters.
Australia’s 36-year-old Robertson collected the trophy and a cheque for £50,000 after winning six matches in the Latvian capital.
World number ten Robertson brings his career tally of ranking titles to 14, joining Mark Selby in joint-sixth place on the all-time list.

This time all Grove players entered the tournament and, except Oliver, all who needed to qualify won their opening match. Wenbo and Neil have their last 2128 match held over to the venue.
Judd made very light work of tour rookie Kishan Hirani, beating him by 5-0
Luca did (nearly) the same to Ian Burns, beating him by 5-1 with breaks of 95, 77, 74 and 67.
Ali also recorde an emphatic 5-0 against Basel Eltahhan. Ali had a 98 and a 82.

All Grove players, except for Judd, were competing in the Riga Masters Qualifiers in Preston last week (July 2nd 2018 – July 5th 2018). All of them won their qualifying match and will be in Latvia at the end of this month.
Neil beat young Luo Honghao by 4-2. Luo was the winner of the inaugural WSF Championship in Malta last spring. It was a high quality match with a break over 60 in every frame. It was streamed.

Wenbo returns to the Grove

Ahead of the 2018/19 season Liang Wenbo returns to the Grove … and everyone is very happy to welcome him back.
Wenbo said “I had many success with Grove in the past, got to the final of the UK and win his first tournament after that. I lost focus last year and I believe that with the coaching and back up I have with Grove in the coming years I can start winning again. I like the coaching and facilities used in Grove and Django understands my needs more than anyone”
