Liang Wenbo joins the Grove
The Grove is delighted to announce the addition of Liang Wenbo to its team of players.
Still only 24 years old, Wenbo has been on the Main Tour since 2006, after winning the 2005 IBSF World Under-21 Championship at the age of 18. Wenbo is the current Chinese number two player and won the World Cup in Bangkok in July 2011 with his compatriot, Ding Junhui. Wenbo has also experienced success at the Asian Games, winning a gold medal in both Doha in 2006 and Guangzhou in 2010. His best performance to date in a World Snooker ranking event was in reaching the final of the Roewe Shanghai Masters in September 2009. He has made one 147 break, at the Bahrain Snooker Championship qualifiers against Martin Gould in October 2008.
Grove partners Django Fung and Paul Golder said, “We are delighted that Wenbo has chosen to join the Grove Academy. He joins a strong team of English and Chinese players all striving for success on and off the table, and we are confident that our facilities, teamwork and camaradarie of the other players will inspire Wenbo to greater success”.
