The Victoria Bulgarian Open 2013 (European Tour event 1) was played in Sofia, Bulgaria, from June 6 till June 9, 2013. Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski were in the draw. On Friday, Jack won two matches, despite struggling with his game at times, but couldn’t overcome Jimmy Robertson in the last 32. Judd, the Defending Champion, lost to David Gilbert in the last 64.

Day 1

L128 – Jack Lisowski 4-3 Matt Couch
Jack was struggling badly and missing everything and found himself 0-3 down. Somehow, without playing well he managed to come back and win. Asked how he did it, his answer was “Lucky! Very lucky!”. Still the 122 he made in the last frame shows that some form is there somewhere.

L64 – Jack Lisowski 4-1 Michael Wasley
Jack was a lot happier with his game in this second match of the day. His assessment is that he played well. There was only one break over 50, a 75 from Jack to finish the match.

L32 – Jack Lisowski 2-4 Jimmy Robertson
Jimmy, who had looked in ominous form in his last 128 and last 64 matches, proved too strong for Jack. Jack made 78 and 53 in the frames he won, but couldn’t take the close ones.

Last 128 – Judd Trump 4-0 Sanderson Lam
Judd started with a 121 and overall totally dominated the match except from frame two where Sanderson was first in with a chance and scored 50 before Judd stole it.

Last 64 – Judd Trump 2-4 David Gilbert
At 2-2 the story was that Judd had won two frames in one visit, with 96 and 90 whilst David had won the close ones. However from there Judd didn’t pot another ball as his opponent won the last two with breaks of 70 and 73 to end Judd’s defense.
