ET4 2013 – Paul Hunter Classic – Fürth, Germany
The Paul Hunter Classic is probably the best attended of all European Tour Events. It honours the memory of the sadly missed Paul Hunter and was held from August 22 till August 25, 2013 in Fürth, Germany. The pros started on Friday August, 23. From Grove only Jack and Judd were involved. On day 1, Judd made it to last 32, but then lost to David Morris. Jack lost in the last 128 on day 2.
Last 128
Judd Trump 4-1 Ian Glover
This is an important win for Judd who has been on a bit of a bare run recently. Both players scored well, Judd had 53, 52 and 92 to finish, whilst Ian had 54 and 57. But the most important aspect is maybe that Judd did win the very close 4th frame by 71-64 despite Ian’s 57. Making it 3-1 instead of 2-2 by winning a frame he probably should have lost has to be a welcome confidence boost.
Jack Lisowski 3-4 Gerard Greene
Jack’s run in Germany was short. He found himself 3-0 down but fought back to 3-3. Unfortunately he was unable to score more than 2 points in the decider.
Last 64
Judd Trump 4-2 Graeme Dott
87, 53, 84 and 57 were Judd’s winning breaks, Graeme had 94 and 77 on his own. The mouse that insisted to watch the match and even stopped the game at one point was unavailable for comments…
Last 32
Judd Trump 2-4 David Morris
Judd went 2-0 with a 70 break in the second frame. But after that, the young Irish stepped up a gear and won four on the trot. He won three close frames but also hit 60 and 91 in the process.
