Champion of Champions 2013
Ricoh Arena, Coventry, England – 19-25/11/2013
This new tournament is meant to reward the tournament winners from the previous season. Judd, having won in Chengdu in 2012, was in it and started his campaign wit a 4-1 win over Marco Fu. But he fell to Stuart Bingham in the next round, losing 2-6. Neil, China Open winner was there also and reached the semi finals, having won both his previous matches in deciders. He narrowly lost 5-6 to Ronnie.
Last 16 – Judd Trump 4-1 Marco Fu
Judd was far from his best but Marco wasn’t at the races at all despite winning the first frame. Judd however stayed patient and applied himself. He got the reward for it.

Last 16 – Neil Robertson 4-3 Martin Gould
Last 8 – Judd Trump 2-6 Stuart Bingham
Judd had enough chances, especially after he won frame 4 to make it 3-1 to Stuart at the MSI. But he didn’t take them. Too many errors all along. 86% pot success is just not good enough at that level. Judd was very, very disappointed and said it’s just not happening for him at the moment.
Last 8 – Neil Robertson 6-5 Ali Carter
Last 4 – Ronnie O’ Sullivan 6-5 Neil Robertson
That was a hell of a match, featuring three centuries, including a great 125 by Neil to force a decider and another well constructed 119 by Ronnie to win the match. After the match both players called for more invitational events like this one – that’s what we, top players, play for, they said.
