Four Grove players were involved in the Championship League snooker 2018, that started early January and ended yesterday: Ali Carter, Neil Robertson, Judd Trump and Luca Brecel. John Higgins was the defending champion, and managed a successful defence.. He’s the first player to do that in the tournament history. Neil entered the event in Group 2 but withdrew for personal reasons. Ali was the only grove player who made it to the Winners Group. He entered the competition in Group 3, won Group 4 and made the SF in the Winners Group. Judd entered the competition in Group 4. He played in four groups, 4 -7, came top of the table three times, reached the Group final twice but came short each time.
Luca entered the tournament in Group 7, won only one match but … made a 147!
