The Shanghai Masters 2018 was held from 10th to 16th of September 2018 in Shanghai China. The tournament was held as an invitational event for the first time with the top 16 invited, along 8 Chinese players. Neil, Luca and Judd were involved. Ronnie O’Sullivan was the defending Champion, and defend he did! He beat Barry Hawkins in the final by 11-9.

None of the Grove players went further than the last 16. Actually Luca was the only top 16 player to lose at the last 24 stage. Zhou Yuelong beat him by 6-4. Neil who played an amateur in the last 24 was facing a tough task in the next round: Ronnie beat him by 6-3. Judd didn’t have to play in the last 24, but he was handed a match against the winner of the last two events, Kyren Wilson, who was on a 18 successive wins streak. Kyren made it 19 beating Judd by 6-2.
