Luca Brecel was the only Grove player at the 2019 Paul Hunter Classic in Fürth. The tournament that once was the biggest pro-am in Europe, attracting well over 200 players, pros and amateurs, is now reduced to a 16 men invitational, with very poor prize money. The tournament was well supported by the fans but wasn’t on television, nor was it streamed. It was won by Barry Hawkins. Luca reached the semi-finals, where he lost to Kyren Wilson. All the players involved deserve praise for turning up to hounour the memory of Paul Hunter despite the meagre financial reward. All detailed results are on snooker.org.
