In Neil’s own words on twitter it was “nice to bounce back after the silliness earlier in the week and win group 1 of the championship league”. The first group was played in Leicester on 7 and 8 October 2019. Neil Robertson, Jack Lisowski and Luca Brecel were involved.

After losing his first two matches, Neil did enough to qualify for the play-offs, where he beat Mark Selby in the semi-finals and Ryan Day in the Final, by 3-2 both times. He is the first to qualify for the winners group.
Jack won only two matches, but crucially beat Mark Selby by 3-0 in the last one. He managed to win enough frames to avoid relegation and finished fifth of the group and stay in the competition.
Luca finished last of the group and is now out of the tournament.
