The 2022 British Open

The tournament was played from September 26 to October 2, 2022, in Milton Keynes, England. Mark Williams was the defending champion but he lost in the first round proper (L64). The event was won by Ryan Day who beat Mark Allen by 10-7 in the final.

Neil Robertson did not enter the event.
Ali Carter lost in the qualifying round (4-1 to Hammad Miah)

Ding Junhui reached round 2 (last 32) where he lost by 4-2 to Robbie Williams. Robbie went on to reach the semi-finals.
Judd Trump lost by 4-3 to Mark Allen in round 3 (last 16). Judd had an opportunity to regain the World Number one spot in the rankings but need to win the event.
Mark Selby also fell to Mark Allen, by 5-3, in the quarter-finals.
