PTC2: Sheffield, 8-11 July 2010

The second of World Snooker’s Players Tour Championship events has started in Sheffield, with professional Main Tour players and amateurs alike battling for a prize fund of £50,000.

Seven Grove players took part with Liu Chuang and Judd Trump both making the last 32.

Happy Birthday Jack!

The Grove’s newest player, Jack Lisowski, is 19 today. Jack is playing in his first Professional Tournament tomorrow and we wish him and all other Grove players the best of luck.

Congratulations to new World Champion Neil Robertson

The Grove sends out its congratulations to new World Champion Neil Robertson, who was a Grove player between 2007 and 2009.

Neil became the first Australian to win the title by beating 2006 winner Graeme Dott in the final, and rises to an all-time high of number 2 in the World Rankings.

Happy birthday Sean!

Happy birthday to the Grove’s Sean O’Sullivan who turns 16 on Thursday 29 April!

Sean has had another great season which ended with Sean reaching the final 8 of Riley’s Search For A Star competition.

China Open qualifiers

Friday
Judd Trump wasted no time in booking his place for the final stages at Beijing. He beat Tom Ford 5-1 and rattled in breaks of 114 and 100 on the way.
Judd will play Peter Ebdon in the last 32 – the tournament begins on 29 March.

Judd Trump joins the Grove

The Grove is delighted to announce the signing of Judd Trump.

Judd said, “I’m very happy to be part of a growing team at the Grove. I have been practicing at the new Academy here in Romford and look forward to improving my game with the other pros playing here”.

Ronnie O’Sullivan at the Grove Academy

Ronnie came down to us today to talk to Peter Staunton from Sky Sports News about his prospects for the forthcoming UK tournament and what it was like to practice with good up-and-coming Chinese players.
After the interview Ronnie had a few frames with 17 year old Grove player Chen Zhe, who is currently living here in Romford and taking part on the PIOS tour.
