Indian Open 2015

9 March 2015 No Comment

The Indian Open 2015, main event stages, started on March 10, 2015 and lasted 5 days. Judd, Wenbo, Cao Yupeng, Yu Delu and Li Hang were in it. Only Li Hang and Judd made it past round 1 and to the last 16 where they lost. Judd was playing despite suffering a shoulder injury.

A lot of top players, including Neil, have opted out of this one, mainly because the schedule is extremely hectic in March and it’s very close to the Crucible. Judd however has decided to play. Speaking to Hector Nunns he explains why and how he sees this tournament as a great opportunity for himself and India.

Jamie Jones 4-2 Liang Wenbo

This one went to a respotted black in the deciding frame after Yu had lead by 67-0 with 67 on the table, only for Ben to clear and force a respot.

Last 32

Judd Trump 4-3 Adam Duffy
A match between close friends is always difficult but both set friendship aside and fought hard. I was as close as it gets but eventually Judd prevailed.

Li Hang 4-1 Stuart Carrington
Li hang was the better player but Stuart hit a 138 in the only frame he won and this is, at this stage, the tournament HB.
