The English Open 2018
The English Open 2018, first of the Home Nations Series was played in the K2 arena in Crawley from 15 to 21 October 2018. The tournament was won by Stuart Bingham who defeated Mark Davis in what was the “oldest” snooker final in history, with players aggregated ages totalling 88 years.
From the Grove players, it was Ali who had the best run in the tournament. He reached the QF, where he lost by 5-2 to the eventual Champion Stuart Bingham. Neil and Judd got to the last 16. Neil’s conqueror was the young World Federation reigning Champion, 18 years old Luo Honghao. This boy is one for the future for sure!
Jack lost in the last 32, to Judd, and Luca was beaten in the last 64 by Ali, whilst Neil took Oliver out at the same stage. Unfortunate Grove clashes. Liang who won this title two years ago lost in the last 64 to Eden Sharav.
