Judd Trump is the 2019 World Snooker Champion!

6 May 2019 No Comment

Congratulations to Judd, the 2019 World Snooker Champion!
He beat John Higgins by 18-9 in a record-breaking final. Judd made seven centuries in that final, more than in any other Crucible final. The match had 11 centuries in total, more than any other match. And this World Championship saw 100 centuries made, the 100th bu the new champion. Also, by winning the World Championship, Judd became only the 11th player in history to hold the “Triple Crown” – UK Championship (2011),, Masters (2019), World Championship (2019)

Neil Robertson and Ali Carter reached the QF stage. Neil lost to John Higgins by 13-10. He was probably a bit disappointed by that result given the excellent season he just had. Ali Carter, who had to qualify for the event, lost by 13-9 to Gary Wilson, another qualifier who was a revelation in this championship. Gary Wilson had also beaten Luca Brecel in round one and Mark Selby in round two, whilst Ali Carter himself had beaten Jack Lisowski in round one and Zhou Yuelong in round two.
