Riga Masters 2019

29 July 2019 No Comment

The Riga Masters 2019 was played in Riga Arena, Riga, Latvia from 26 to 28 July 2019.
All grove players were involved except Judd Trump and Liang Wenbo. Neil Robertson was the defending champion. However he didn’t get the opportunity to defend his title: an unlikely combination of events meant that his flight to Riga was canceled whilst no other flight could get him there in time for his first match.
Ali Carter, Luca Brecel and Oliver Lines lost in the first round at the main venue (last 64). Jack Lisowski reached the last 16, where he lost by 4-3 to Mark Joyce who was the eventual runner-up. Jack was scoring heavily whilst in the balls but his safety game looked a bit rusty. Nevertheless he made the highest break of the tournament, a brilliant 145.
