2020 Welsh Open

18 February 2020 No Comment

The 2020 Welsh Open was played in Cardiff, Wales from 10 to 16 February 2020. The tournament was won by Shaun Murphy who beat Kyren Wilson by 9-1 in the final.
All Grove players were involved. Neil Robertson was the defending champion. Neil came to compete in Cardiff right after winning the World Grand Prix. He had just made three finals in the last three weeks, in three different countries, winning two. At the start of the tournament Neil admitted that, had he not been the defending champion, he would have withdrawn. He did extremely well to reach the quarter finals, but, at that stage, he hit the wall and lost by 5-0 to Kyren Wilson. Judd Trump was beaten at the same stage by the eventual winner Shaun Murphy.
