The 2024 Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters
The inaugural Saudi Arabia Masters was played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 30th of August to 7th of September, in the Green Hall, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The price money of offer was the highest ever in snooker, bar the World Championship. The event was played from start to finish at the main venue which is how it should always be. The event was won by Judd Trump who narrowly beat Mark Williams by 10-9 in the final. The decider went to the last black!
All Grove players had entered the event.
Wu Yize was narrowly beaten in round 5 (last 32) , by Judd Trump, the eventual champion. That’s a very good result for the young Grove player.
Ding also went out in that same round, last 32, also beaten by 5-4 by Stuart Bingham. Luca Brecel was another “victim” of the last 32 round: he lost by 5-2 to Pang Junxu. And finally, again in the last 32, Neil Robertson faced Mark Selby in a “Grove Derby”. Neil won that match by 5-3.
Neil progressed to the quarter-finals, where he succumbed, by 6-3, to Judd Trump.
