European Event 2 – Judd makes the final at the Paul Hunter Classic 2014

Stadthalle, Fürth, Germany – 20-24 August 2014
All Grove players are involved, except Zhang Anda who couldn’t get a visa. Judd, Lihang and Cao Yupeng played on day 1 and Judd booked his spot in the Finals day. On day 2, Neil Robertson and Liang Wenbo won their three matches. Wenbo lost to Mark Selby in the last 16, and Neil went out to Dechawat Poomjaeng. Judd made it to the final but lost 4-2 to Mark Allen.

The qualifying rounds of the Shanghai Master are still played under a tiered system. Li Hang and Liang Wenbo both won 4 matches and qualified for the television stag; they will play in Shanghai. Li Hang, Lyu Chenwei, Zhang Anda and Cao Xinlong started in round 1. Only Li Hang went through: he was supposed to play Zhang Anda who had to withdraw because of visa issues. European Tour  Event 1 – Riga Open 2014

Riga, Latvia – 7-10 August 2014.
Neil and Judd were the only Grove played in this one. Neil opened the proceedings with the first television match of the event. In last 128 he beat Ross Muir but not without a scare, 4-3 it was, but lost 4-3 to Jak Jones in the last 64. Judd made it to the Finals day. He beat Chris Wakelin 4-1 in the last 16, but lost by 4-3 to Anthony McGill in the quarters..

AT1 – Yixing Open 2014

The first Asian Tour event, was played in Yixing from 17 to 21 June 2014. All Chinese Grove players were competing, whilst Neil and Judd did not enter. They all won their first match … except Wenbo, surprisingly. Li Hang and Yu Delu reached the quarters.

Australian Open 2014 – Qualifiers

The Australian Open Qualifiers are played under tiered format, at the Capital Venue between May 30 and June 3, 2014. Cao Xin Long, Lyu Chenwei, Li Hang, Yu Delu and Liang Wenbo are involved. Cao Xin Long and Lyu Chenwei lost on day 1. Yu Delu lost in round 2, Li Hang in round 3. Wenbo is the last man standing after he beat Jimmy Robertson, he will go to Bendigo..

Wuxi Classic 2014 – Last 128

The new season starts already with the Wuxi Classic Qualifiers, played at The Capital Venue in Gloucester fro May 24 to May 28, 2014. All Grove players, except Zhang Anda are involved. Neil is the defending champion. Neil, Judd, Yu Delu, Lyu Chenwei and Wenbo qualified and will be in Wuxi.

World Championship 2014, Sheffield, England

The Crucible Theatre is the home of snooker once again as the World Championship unfolds, from April 19 to May 5, 2014. Only Judd and Neil are involved and they are in the same half of the draw. Neil beat Judd by 13-11 in the quarter finals. Neil lost by 17-15 to Mark Selby in what was one of the best semi finals at the Crucible.
Neil finally made the ton of tons in frame 22 of the quarters!

World Championship 2014 – Qualifiers , Pond Forge, Sheffield, England

The World Championship 2014 Qualifiers – still played in a tiered format – run from April 8 till April 16, at Pond Forge, Sheffield. All Grove players, except for Neil and Judd, who are seeded, are involved. Zhang Anda, Cao Xinlong, Chen Zhe, Li Hang and Li Yan all won their matches in Round 1. Neil makes the final at the China Open 2014 in Beijing

The China Open television stages were held in Beijing from March 31 to April 6, 2014 and features 64 players plus 4 wildcards. Neil was the defending champion. Li Hang lost in the last 64, Judd in the last 32 and Yu Delu in the last 16. Neil was unwell all week and had a few very difficult days, but still managed to reach the final where he lost 10-5 to Ding. Players Championship Grand Final 2014

The Player Championship Grand Final concludes the Players Tour season with 32 players competing for the £100 000 winners prize.
Neil, Judd, Wenbo and Yu Delu have qualified. Neil and Wenbo fell at the first hurdle. In the last 16, Yu Delu played an excellent match to beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 4-3 and Judd beat Shaun Murphy 4-0 in no time. Judd won another very high quality match, beating Joe Perry 4-2 to book his spot in the semi finals, but Yu Delu lost to Barry Hawkins. And Barry beat Judd …
