The World Snooker Championship 2018 was held from April 21 to May 7, 2018 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. The tournament was won by Mark Williams who beat John Higgins by 18-16 in a high quality encounter.
The Grove has five players involved in the Championship: Jack Lisowski who had successfully gone through three qualifying matches, Luca Brecel, Neil Robertson, Ali Carter and Judd Trump all being there by right, being in the top 16 of the rankings.

English Institute of Sport, Sheffield, 11-18 April 2018. Only Jack Lisowski and Oliver Lines were involved in those qualifying rounds. Oliver won his first match, but was beaten, in a deciding frame, by Alan McManus in round 2. He did enough though to secure his professional status via the one year list. Jack won his three matches, beating Alan McManus in the third round by 10-3. He played very well throughout. He will play Stuart Bingham in the first round at the Crucible Theatre.
