Indian Open 2013, Delhi, India
Snooker was invented in India, but the Indian Open 2013 – 14-18 October 2013 – is the first ranking event played there. The format is best of 7 throughout, except for the Final that is best of nine. Wenbo, Li Yan, Anda, Sleepy and Yu Delu have qualified, but Yu didn’t get his visa unfortunately. Wenbo, Anda and Li Yan are now in the last 32. Only Wenbo made it to the last 16 where he fell to the World n°1, Neil Robertson.

Liang Wenbo 4-2 David Morris
64-25, 66(55)-32, 105(74)-6, 8-86(61), 33-70(69), 78(78)-0
Another high scoring affair between two young players who go for it: 5 breaks over 50 in 6 frames. Not bad!
Jeff Cundy 3-4 Li Yan
45-72, 54 -57, 52-44, 22-68, 63-32, 73-6, 8-51
How close was that?
Zhang Anda 4-1 Alan McManus
61-34, 69(68)-0, 0-65, 70-19, 59-54
Another good win for Anda against a very experienced player, and a master tactician.
Chen Zhe 3-4 Hammad Miah
1-81, 11-97(65), 84-29, 73(57)-9, 71-36, 13-68, 4-75
Sleepy couldn’t win this extremely hard fought battle against Hammad Miah who is proving himself to be a very dangerous player. He’s new on the tour but has already caused a few surprises.
Yu Delu was forced to withdraw because of a visa issue.

Dechawat Poemjaeng 2-4 Liang Wenbo
71(63)-1, 1-100(100), 0-87(87), 11-75, 63-47, 50-84.
Started with one visit, high scoring frames, ended in hard fought battles but Wenbo is through!
Li Yan 0-4 John Higgins
0-73(73), 34-68, 0-84(84), 0-105(50)
Fair to say that John Higgins scoring power was too much for Li Yan
Zhang Anda 3-4 Michael White
92(83)-8, 133(133)-0, 23-69, 21-55, 66-41, 40-76, 26-79
Anda will be disappointed to lose this one after the great start he had.
Last 32
Neil Robertson 4-2 Liang Wenbo
Wenbo fought hard to come back from 0-2 down to 2-2. But Neil stepped up another gear and two big breaks, including a century to finish, got him the win.
