Ethan recently picked to represent England table tennis in the Cadet Boys had some great success whilst competing. In Ethans cadet group he won 2 out of his 3 matches beating Ziga Zigon from Slovenia 3-2 and followed up with a 3-1 victory over Adam Klaber from Slovakia which resulted with Ethan through to the knockout stages. Ethan ended up with a tough match against the number 28 in the world Amin Ahmadian from Iran and had a great match against him but eventually Ethan lost 3-1 nearly pushing Amin to the 5th leg.

In the doubles Ethan was paired up with IIia Kortchinski from Belarus and they had never played together before so needed to get used to each others game quickly. After never playing together they had a great run and got to the last 16 where they came up from a strong pair from Hungary and they lost 3-1
