Ethan Walsh is the National Champion For 4th Year !!
Ethan Walsh is once again National Champion of the Cadet Singles for 2016/17
Ethan fought through some sticky moments early in the competition to win the title.
The Stevenage Nobel student player, beat Amirul Hussain in the final 4-1 (8-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-4, 14-12).

Success For Ethan In Hungarian Youth Open

Ethan recently picked to represent England table tennis in the Cadet Boys had some great success whilst competing. In Ethans cadet group he won 2 out of his 3 matches beating Ziga Zigon from Slovenia 3-2 and followed up with a 3-1 victory over Adam Klaber from Slovakia which resulted with Ethan through to the knockout stages. Ethan tells us about his summer school experience in China

Ethan was selected by Table Tennis England to train in China for three weeks at a summer school.
Ethan is currently the U13 national champion and ranked No.1 in the country at both U14 and U15 level.
The youngster is expected to feature abroad for England a lot next year, and it is hoped that the trip to Shanghai will aid in his development to become one of the top players in Europe at his age.

Masters success for Ethan Walsh

Ethan Walsh ranked the number 1 under 13 in England (current National Champion) at table tennis has had a great season winning tournaments at both junior and senior level.
One of the most important events that Ethan has been training for is the National Cadet Masters held on 21st/22nd February at Burton Uxbridge which involves the top 12 ranked under 15 year old players in England and they all play each other for final positions. It was very busy summer for Ethan after retaining his title of National under 12 Champion it was none stop table tennis with all the intense training camps. Ethan was also selected to play in France in the European Mini Championships where each Country select their best players to take part and battle it out for final placings. Ethan regains National Title

There has been a big lead up with lots of intense training for Ethan due to the National Championships being held over the weekend 31st May. In the final Ethan had Jamie Liu from the Kingfisher Club in Reading – Ethan ran onto the court when called to play in the final and looked mentally strong. Ethan continues to amaze !

Ethan now 11 is continuing to grow and improve at a fast rate and is now challenging the top 100 Senior Men.
Ethan has been competing as usual in Junior events where he reached the final at the Derby 4 star tournament a few weeks ago. He competed recently in the Junior British League where he played 10 matches and managed to win 9 of them – the only defeat being deuce in the fifth.

Ethan Walsh Crowned National Champion !!

Ethan Walsh (just turned 11) – a pupil at Martinswood School based in Stevenage – enjoyed a weekend to remember as he won the under 11 Table Tennis National Championships based in Tipton Sports Centre on the weekend of 1st/2nd June.

Young table tennis hot prospect Ethan Walsh joins the Grove

Grove is happy to welcome Ethan Walsh, a very promising young table tennis talent, in its team.
Ethan is 10 years old from Stevenage and comes from a whole family of table tennis players so he was always destined to be a great table tennis player with his background. He is currently the number 1 under 11 in England and looks forward to the rest of the season and has some very big events coming up.

Ethan says:

‘I am delighted to have joined the Grove and hope they can bring me success like they have done in snooker. I am looking forward to meeting up with other Grove players.’

Django says:

‘I am still playing table tennis at the local leagues and am passionate about table tennis. Ethan is a great talent and from a lovely family.I am looking forward to working with him.
