The Scottish Open 2018 was played at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, from December 10 to December 16, 2018. Neil Robertson was the defending Champion. The tournament was won by Mark Allen who beat Shaun Murphy by 9-7 in the Final.

Neil Robertson was the defending champion but made an early exit as he was beaten by Ross Muir in the second round (last 64) by 4-2. Neil was clearly thrown out of his rhythm by his opponent slow pace and complained about that right after the match. It transpired however that Ross was unwell and Neil immediately apologised for his initial comments, and took on social media to apologise as well. Neil deserves a lot of credit for ding this, but unfortunately a certain press only reported his initial comments, but none of his apologies.

Oliver lines and Liang Wenbo fell at first hurdle. Liang went out to Mark Allen the eventual champion. Jack Lisowski, just like Neil, lost in the last 64. He lost by 4-1 to Jimmy Robertson, the reigning European Masters Champion. Luca Brecel reached the last 32, losing to former World Champion Graeme Dott in a deciding frame. Ali Carter went one better, but also lost in a deciding frame, to Sam Baird in the last 16. Judd Trump was pushed hard by Stuart Carrington in the QF, and lost to Shaun Murphy by 6-3 in the next round, the semi finals.
