Judd Trump is the 2020 German Masters Champion

The 2020 German Masters was played at the iconic Tempodrom, in Berlin, Germany, from 29 January to 2 February 2020. Judd Trump won the event – for the first time – beating Neil Robertson by 9-6 in an all Grove final. It was Judd’s 15th ranking title, and the 4th already this season. Impressive!
It was a very high quality, enthralling match. Both players played rather tactically, showing outstanding skills in their safety exchanges. There were, of course, big breaks as well: Judd had no less than 8 breaks over 50 …

Judd Trump defends his Northern Ireland Open title

Judd Trump beat Ronnie O’Sullivan by 9-7 to retain his Northern Ireland Open title. It was a match of the highest quality, and a repeat of the previous year final. By winning this title, Judd accomplished something that hadn’t be done since Stephen Hendry in 1990/91, winning three ranking events as a first time World Champion, and, of course, there could be more to come. This victory further consolidates Judd’s status as the current dominant figure in snooker: he’s World Champion, World number one and miles ahead of everyone else …

Neil Robertson win Championship League Snooker Group 1

In Neil’s own words on twitter it was “nice to bounce back after the silliness earlier in the week and win group 1 of the championship league”. The first group was played in Leicester on 7 and 8 October 2019. Neil Robertson, Jack Lisowski and Luca Brecel were involved.
After losing his first two matches, Neil did enough to qualify for the play-offs, where he beat Mark Selby in the semi-finals and Ryan Day in the Final, by 3-2 both times. He is the first to qualify for the winners …

Luca Brecel was the only Grove player at the 2019 Paul Hunter Classic in Fürth. The tournament that once was the biggest pro-am in Europe, attracting well over 200 players, pros and amateurs, is now reduced to a 16 men invitational, with very poor prize money. The tournament was well supported by the fans but wasn’t on television, nor was it streamed. It was won by Barry Hawkins. Luca reached the semi-finals, where he lost to Kyren Wilson. All the players involved deserve praise for turning up to hounour …
