Neil Robertson wins the 2019 Welsh Open

Neil Robertson beat Stuart Bingham by 9-7 in a tense final in Cardiff to lift the Ray Reardon Trophy. It was Neil’s 15th ranking title and the second Welsh Open victory. The first came in 2007 – when he beat Andrew Higginson by 9-8 – only his second ranking title at the time.
The tournament was played in Cardiff from February 11 to February 17, 2019.
It wasn’t a great tournament for the Grove team overall, with Jack Lisowski being “second best” to Neil with a modest last 16 run. …

Judd wins the World Grand Prix 2019

Judd Trump beat Ali Carter – an all Grove Final – to win the World Grand Prix 2019, played in Cheltenham from February 4 to February 10, 2019.

This was Judd’s third title of the season, after the Northern Ireland Open 2018 and The Masters 2019. It was Judd’s tenth ranking title in total.

The television stages of the German Masters 2019 – starting at the last 32 – were played at the Tempodrom in Berlin from January 30, 2019 to February 3, 2019. The event was won by Kyren Wilson, who beat David Gilbert by 9-7 in the Final.
Only three Grove players were involved: Jack Lisowski, Neil Robertson and Judd Trump. Jack lost in the last 32 to Duane Jones, the surprise semi-finalist. Judd and Neil both lost in the quarter finals, to Stephen Maguire and David Gilbert respectively.

Judd is the Masters 2019 Champion

Having reached the Final at the Masters for the first time, Judd Trump went on to win the title in emphatic manner. He completely outplayed Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final, beating him by 10-4. Judd made most of the damage in the first session, which he won by 7-1.

Scottish Open 2018

The Scottish Open 2018 was played at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, from December 10 to December 16, 2018. Neil Robertson was the defending Champion. The tournament was won by Mark Allen who beat Shaun Murphy by 9-7 in the Final.

UK Championship 2018

The UK Championship 2018 was played at the York Barbican from November 27 to December 9, 2018. Ronnie O’Sullivan successfully defended his title, setting a new records of 7 UK Championship titles, and 19 Triple Crowns. He beat Mark Allen by 10-6 in the Final.

The Northern Ireland Open 2018 was played at the Waterfront, Belfast, from November 12 to November 18, 2018.

The International Championship 2018

Neil Robertson reached the final of the International Championship 2018, played in Daqing, China from 28 October to 4 November 2018. He played great snooker all week, but, unfortunately, came short against Mark Allen who beat him by 10-5 in the final.It was in fact a very successful event for the Grove team. No less than four of the five players competing in Daqing reached the quarter finals: Neil, Jack, Ali and Judd. Ali was beaten at that stage by the eventual champion Mark Allen. Jack and Judd faced each other, and it was Jack who prevailed. Neil beat the current n°1 and defending champion, Mark Selby.
Again in the semi finals, the two remaining Grove players, Jack and Neil faced each other and it was Neil who won by 9-7.

The English Open 2018

The English Open 2018, first of the Home Nations Series was played in the K2 arena in Crawley from 15 to 21 October 2018. The tournament was won by Stuart Bingham who defeated Mark Davis in what was the “oldest” snooker final in history, with players aggregated ages totalling 88 years.

The qualifiers for the International Championship 201! were played in Barnsley from 9 to 12 October 2018. Players had to win one match to book their place in the main event proper.
Unfortunately Jack and Oliver had to play each other and it’s Jack who came out the winner by 6-5. Neil, Judd and Ali also qualified, whilst Luca lost to Jordan Brown by 6-5. Liang, being China’s n°2, has his last 128 match held-over to the main venue.
