The APTC Event 1 was scheduled in Yixing from June 11 till June 14, 2013. All Grove players have entered except for Judd. In the last 16, Jack lost to “Eric” – Cao Yupeng – after an excellent match that went to a decider. Delu lost in the quarters, 4-1 to Alan McManus. Complete results here.

Since a few months Jack and Judd support the Teenage Cancer Trust and yesterday Jack was in Bristol to support the fundraising campaign for the local unit. Unfortunately Judd was unwell and unable to attend.
Niamh Paul, celebrity liaison manager at the Teenage Cancer Trust, was delighted with Jack’s support. He said:

The Victoria Bulgarian Open 2013 (European Tour event 1) was played in Sofia, Bulgaria, from June 6 till June 9, 2013. Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski were in the draw. On Friday, Jack won two matches, despite struggling with his game at times, but couldn’t overcome Jimmy Robertson in the last 32. Judd, the Defending Champion, lost to David Gilbert in the last 64.

The new season got under with the Wuxi Classic; the first round was played at The Capital Venue, Gloucester (formerly South West Snooker Academy) from 27 to 29 May, 2013. All Grove players have entered. With the new flat structure, all were in action. Jack, Yu Delu, Sleepy, Hang, Wenbo and Judd have qualified. In Wuxi, on June 17, Yu was first in action but lost to a very solid Stuart Bingham. On day 2, Jack, Wenbo and Hang booked their spot in the last 32 whilst Judd and …

The World Championship, was played at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield from April 20 till May 6, 2013. Ronnie is the defending champion. Jack was making his debut and Judd hoped to go one better than in 2011.
Jack lost to Barry Hawkins 3-10 in the last 32. Ronnie beat Judd by 17-11 in the semi finals.
Ronnie beat Barry Hawkins in the final 18-12.

The qualifying stages proper of the World Championship 2013 are played in Sheffield from Saturday 6 April till Sunday 14 April 2013. Chen Zhe, Li Yan, Yu Delu, Zhang Andah, Liang Wenbo and Jack Lisowski will all try to get to the Crucible.
Jack, Yu Delu and Wenbo reached the final round. Wenbo lost to Mark Davis 6-10 and Yu was beat 9-10 by Mark King (heartbreak that!).
Jack beat Fergal O’Brien 10-4 in the final round and will make his Crucible debut. Well done Jack!

The China Open 2013 ran from Monday 25.03.2013 to Sunday 31.03.2013. Judd, Jack and Wenbo were in acxtion in Beijing. In wildcard round Jack won his first match 5-1 and defeated Judd 5-3 in last 32, in high quality entertaining contest. Wenbo beat wildcard Lu Ning 5-1 but lost to Stuart Bingham in last 32. Jack beat Mark Davis, 5-4 in the last 16 but was beaten by Shaun Murphy by the same score in the quarters.

Jack and Judd will compete in the PTC Grand Final 2013, running from March 12 till March 17 2013 in Galway, Ireland. Jack managed to tame Mark Selby, winning 4-3, in the last match on day 1, whilst Judd got beat by Alfie Burden in the evening on day 2. In last 16, Jack lost 3-4 to Tom Ford.

All Grove player were in action in the Welsh Open 2013. The qualifying stages started on Thursday, February 7 and the event proper kicked off on Monday, February 11. Only Judd and Wenbo made it to Newport. Wenbo came out the first winner at the venue, beating Ryan Day 4-1 but lost 2-4 to Matthew Stevens in last 32. Judd reached the semis after wins over Mike Dunn, Dominic Dale, Andrew Higginson and Pankaj Advani, but was denied the final Stephen Maguire.

The German Masters features a new, flatter structure this season and is played in two “parts”. The first one – from November 28 to 30, 2012 -saw all first round matches completed and part of round 2. All Grove (active) players were involved although Judd was not playing that week. None of the other Grove lads will join him in Berlin, alas. Judd lost to Anthony Hamilton in the last 32.
