The 2022 German Masters

The 2022 German Masters was played at the Tempodrom in Berlin from 26 to 30 January 2022. The tournament was won by Zhao Xintong who beat Yan Bingtao by 9-0 in the “youngest” final since 2006 and only the second “all Chinese” final in snooker history.
Only Mark Selby, Judd Trump, and Neil Robertson were involved in the final stages in Berlin.

Neil Robertson wins the 2022 Masters

Neil Robertson won the Masters for the second time, ten years after his first by beating Barry Hawkins by 10-4 in the final. This brings Neil’s tally of Triple Crown events to six: one World Championship, two Masters, three UK Championships.

Neil Robertson reaches the 2021 World Grand Prix Final

Only weeks after suffering from pulsatile tinnitus, losing in the first round at the 2021 UK Championship, and being forced to withdraw from the 2021 Scottish Open, Neil Robertson made it to the final of the 2021 World Grand Prix, where he was beaten (10-8) by an inspired Ronnie O’Sullivan.

The tournament, featuring only the top 32 players on the one-year list, was played in Coventry from 13 to 19 December 2021. Judd Trump was the defending Champion.

Mark Selby joins the Grove

Mark Selby, the reigning World Champion and World Number One, has joined the Grove and is looking forward to his collaboration with Django Fung and the whole team. He joins his close friend Neil Robertson.

The 2021 Scottish Open

The 2021 Scottish Open was played … in Llandudno, North Wales, from December 6 to December 12, 2021. The tournament was won By Luv=ca Brecel, who defeated John Higgins by 9-5 in the final.
It wasn’t a great event for the Grove players.
Neil Robertson was suffering from tinnitus and withdrew from the tournament.
Ali Carter and Ding Junhui fell at the first hurdle, losing by 4-3 to Kan Doherty and Zhang Anda respectively.

The 2021 UK Championship

The 2021 Uk Championship was played at the York Barbican from 23 November to 5 December 2021. Luca Brecel reached the final but was beaten by Zhao Xintong by 10-5. For the first time, neither of the finalists was ranked inside the top 16 at the start of the tournament and neither was from the UK or Ireland. It was also the first time since 2011 that the final was played between two played aged under 30.

Judd Trump is the 2021 Champion of Champions

The prestigious 2021 Champion of Champions ran from November 15 to November 21, 2021, at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Mark Allen was the defending Champion but opted out of the tournament.
Three of the Grove players were involved: Ding Junhui, Neil Robertson, and Judd Trump.

Neil Robertson wins the 2021 English Open

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, Neil Robertson beat John Higgins in a deciding frame to become the English Open Champion for the first time.
This brought Neil on 21 ranking titles, one better than the reigning World Champion Mark Selby, and just behind Judd Trump who sits at 22.
The tournament was played in Milton Keynes, England, from November 1 to November 7, 2021. The fans were allowed to attend and turned up enthusiastically.

The 2021 World Championship was played at the Crucible there in Sheffield from April 17 to May 3, 2021. The qualifying rounds took place at the EIS in Sheffield from April 5 to April 14, 2021. Ronnie O’Sullivan was the defending Champion. The event was won by Mark Selby who beat Shaun Murphy by 18-15 in the final.
